The 2025 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards ceremony, held in Rabat, Morocco on Wednesday, November 19, saw significant wins for Nigeria in the women’s football categories.
The Super Falcons were recognized as the top national team, and goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, secured a historic individual award.
The awards, hosted at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, celebrate outstanding African football performers for their achievements between January 6 and October 15, 2025.
The event was attended by numerous football legends and officials, with musical performances adding to the occasion.

Nnadozie secures third consecutive goalkeeper award
Chiamaka Nnadozie was crowned the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year for an unprecedented third consecutive time (2023, 2024 and 2025).
The 24-year-old was crucial to the Super Falcons’ success, helping them win their tenth Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco.
For her previous club, during the review period, Nnadozie played a key role in Paris FC’s French Cup victory and earned a spot on the French league’s Team of the Season before transferring to Brighton & Hove Albion in the English Women’s Super League.
Her exceptional performance on the continent also earned her a nomination for the 2025 Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper Award.

Super Falcons named Best Women’s National Team
The Nigeria women’s national football team, the Super Falcons, received the award for the Women’s National Team of the Year.
This accolade follows their remarkable performance and victory in the 2024 WAFCON tournament.
The team’s strong showing during the period under review was a major factor in securing this recognition.
Although Rasheedat Ajibade lost to Ghizlane Chebbak for the Women’s Player of the Year award, the Super Falcons maintain their status as a dominant force in African women’s football.
