“This is leadership” – Orji Kalu hails Tinubu for cancelling international trips over Kebbi schoolgirls’ abduction

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift and empathetic response to the recent abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State.

According to Kalu, the president has been deeply saddened by the incidents, including the violent attack in Ilorin, and has shown genuine concern for the safety and well-being of the victims.

“The president is human, and for the last 24 hours since he heard about it, he has been very sad. He has cancelled all his international commitments to Angola, South Africa, and other parts of the world to stay back, mourn the girls, and hold serious in-house meetings with security operatives of Nigeria,” Kalu said.

He added that in taking immediate action and prioritizing the safety of the victims, the president’s actions reflect “leadership, care, and responsibility.”

“President Tinubu has demonstrated leadership, showing genuine concern and fatherly care for the children kidnapped in Kebbi. This is exactly how it should be,” Kalu emphasized.

Originally, President Tinubu had planned to visit Kebbi state in person, however, he was advised to remain in Abuja, sending the Vice President in his place to assess the situation on the ground.

Kalu also noted that members of the National Assembly share the president’s concern, emphasizing the collective urgency to ensure the safe return of the abducted schoolgirls.
