American rapper, Nicki Minaj has insisted that Christians are being targeted and murdered by Islamic extremists in Nigeria.
The Starships singer spoke while delivering a speech at the United Nations, UN, on Tuesday.
The move was to bring international attention to the alleged massacre of Christians in Nigeria, US Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz announced on Monday.
In her speech, Nicky thanked the US President Donald Trump for prioritizing the issue of Christian persecution in Nigeria, stating that no group should be prosecuted for practicing their religion.
She said, “I would like to thank Donald Trump for prioritizing this issue and his leadership on a global stage and calling for urgent actions to protect Christians in Nigeria, to combat extreme

“In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes and killed. Churches have been burnt, families have been turned apart and communities have been living in fear constantly.
“I want to be clear, protecting Christians in Nigeria is not about taking sides, or dividing people, it is about uniting humanity. Nigeria is a beautiful nation.
“When one’s church, mosque, or place of worship is destroyed, everyone’s heart breaks. In the foundation of the United Nations with the core mandate to ensure peace and security should shake.
“I am joined here today by peace builders, faith leaders and those who saw the violence and chose not to look the other way”.

Reports indicated that the claim, which has been vehemently debunked by Nigerian officials, is currently being investigated by Trump’s administration.
