Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, champions Bayelsa defeated Police Ladies of Ghana 2-1 in their opening fixture of the 2025 WAFU B Women’s Champions League on Sunday, reports Completesports.com.
The Prosperity Girls dominated the opening exchanges, and scored the curtain raiser in the 16th minute through Shakirat Moshood.
Whyte Ogbonda’s failed to double their lead before the break despite creating further chances.

Emem Essien netted Bayelsa Queens second goal in the 62nd minute.
Police Ladies however pulled a goal back through Mary Berko five minutes later.
Bayelsa Queens defended their lead despite effort by the Ghanaian champions to find the leveller.
The Yenagoa club face ASKO of Togo in their next game on Wednesday.
