
Lieutenant Yarima, who recently clashed with FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike over a disputed land site in Abuja, reportedly escaped an assassination attempt this evening.
According to reports obtained from Vanguard, military sources said Yarima was followed by unidentified men dressed in black, riding in two unmarked Hilux vans with no number plates. The vehicles allegedly tailed him from NIPCO Filling Station on the Line Expressway to Gado Nasco Way.
The officer reportedly noticed the surveillance and executed a “strategic maneuver,” successfully evading the suspected assailants, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m., sources added.
Authorities are investigating the matter, describing it as “receiving the seriousness it deserves.” Details are being withheld to avoid compromising the ongoing investigation.
This development comes just days after Lt. Yarima engaged in a tense confrontation with Minister Wike, while on duty with other security personnel.
The clash, captured on video, sparked public debate and led to Presidential intervention, which halted the demolition exercise at the Gaduwa District site.
