Former Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has dismissed widespread rumours suggesting he was in poor health, assuring the public that he is alive and doing well.

In a statement released on Friday, Obiano said he woke up to the “false and unfortunate” reports and deemed it necessary to address the public directly.

“I am alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health. By the special grace of God, I am doing very well,” he said.

Obiano expressed disappointment that some individuals continue to circulate misinformation for reasons he described as unclear, but added that he remains unbothered by such acts of mischief.

He also thanked the many people who reached out to him with calls, messages, and prayers after the rumour began to spread.

“Your love and goodwill mean more than words can express,” he wrote.

“Please disregard the rumour entirely. We remain focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace.”
