The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a three-day maintenance exercise warning residents of Lagos and parts of Ogun State to prepare for temporary electricity disruptions.
Three-day maintenance scheduled
The exercise, slated for 26 to 29 November 2025, will involve installing wave traps on the 330 kV line bays at Aja and Alagbon Transmission Substations. TCN confirmed that the work will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
Spokesperson Ndidi Mbah said the maintenance will affect areas served by the Eko Electricity Distribution Company, including Lagos Island, Apapa, Mushin, Lekki, and parts of Ogun State such as Ojo and Agbara.
Areas affected by power diversion
“We advise residents and businesses to anticipate minor power fluctuations during the diversion of supply lines. Our goal is to improve the overall reliability of the transmission network,” Mbah said.
The company explained that power from Alagbon Substation will be temporarily redirected to the Ijora 132 kV line, while supplies to Akoka and Oworo Transmission Substations will be rerouted through the Ikeja West 132 kV line.
TCN reassured consumers that essential supply will continue, though brief interruptions may occur.
Similar maintenance exercises were carried out in July and October 2025, causing short-term outages across the state.
Mbah emphasised that the November activity is part of TCN’s ongoing efforts to modernise Lagos’ power infrastructure.
