The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, has congratulated General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) on his re-appointment as the Executive Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) by President Bola Tinubu.
Oba Owoade, who described General Marwa as a trailblazer, stated this in a congratulatory message to the former Lagos State military governor on Friday, by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye.
The Alaafin described Marwa as a “man with a strong sense of conscientiousness, resulting in a scrupulous, punctual, reliable, dependable, purposeful, organised, strong-willed and highly determined character.
“The NDLEA Executive Chairman is super-organised, a great planner and is responsible. He works hard in the face of challenges and can control his impulses.
“He is superb at setting goals and working towards them, as well as persisting amid setbacks,” the statement said.
Oba Owoade stressed that the NDLEA Chairman always feels good to live and work with integrity, which “made him known for his highly valued trait, as his life and career keep flourishing.”
Alaafin recalls that between January and July 2021, after his assumption into office, the NDLEA under Buba Marwa had intercepted and destroyed illicit drugs worth over N60 billion.
The monarch therefore prayed for the NDLEA’s boss to have a long life, good health, and prosperity in the arduous task ahead of him.
