Suspected kidnappers stormed the residence of trader and former PDP ward chairman Abubakar Sise in Boriya community, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting him in a brief but terrifying attack early Thursday.
The gunmen struck around midnight, firing multiple shots into the air to intimidate residents before forcing entry.
Sources said one of Sise’s sons, returning home late, was confronted and ordered to summon his father.
The intruders took only Sise, sparing other family members.By dawn, spent bullet casings and live rounds littered the compound, evidence of the heavy gunfire.
The raid lasted just minutes before the assailants vanished into the night.Local vigilantes were alerted immediately and launched a search of surrounding areas to locate the victim and apprehend the kidnappers.
This marks the second abduction in the region in two months. On September 17, a businessman was similarly seized from his home in nearby Shiya community, just kilometers away.
As of press time, Abubakar Sise’s whereabouts remain unknown, with no contact reported from the abductors.
