Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra state, and his Deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, re-elected for a second term on Nov. 8, received their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Receiving the certificate from INEC Supervising National Commissioner and Chairman Tenders board Committee, Ken Ukeagu, in a brief ceremony at the INEC Awka headquarters, Soludo pledged to work harder in his second tenure than he had done in his current tenure.
The governor was joined at the event by APGA faithful, including, his wife, Nonye Soludo and her children, member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency, Pascal Agbodike, Commissioner for Health, Afam Ben Obidike and Chairman of Awka North local government area, Hon ThankGod Anagor.
Others are members of the State House of Assembly and other top Government officials.
Describing the election as free, fair and credible, the governor thanked all that made it possible, especially President Bola Tinubu, who he said kept to his words to ensure it was transparent and credible.

He said: “I want to assure you that with my Deputy and I and our team, we are going to ensure that Anambra continues to shine. God has been with us and God is still with us
“I want to reassure you that I am not going to fail you, I will work harder in my second tenure than I did in my first term, so that at the end of the eight years, Anambra will look back and be happy that the confidence reposed in me, electing me as governor is not in vain.
“I want to call on my brothers and sisters who contested with me to join hands with me so that we can move our state forward and make it a destination hub in Nigeria.
Thanking the people, Soludo said: “My first thanks goes to the Almighty God who performed the miracle of my overwhelming victory.
“I want to specially thank President Bola Tinubu for his firmly stand on transparent and credible election in Anambra State.
“I also want to thank the whole of INEC staff, particularly the newly appointed Chairman of INEC, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan the REC, Dr Queen Elizabeth Agwu and all the INEC staff, media and the security that worked in this election, for conducting this election in free, fair and transparent manner.
“I want to thank the people of Anambra for this trust and in particular, I want to thank APGA as a political party for having this confidence to present me forward and giving me all the support all the way, the governor appreciated.
In his reaction, the former aspirant of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, in Anambra South Senatorial District bye-election, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, also commended the President Tinubu, INEC, Security and APGA supporters for ensure a crime- free election in the state.
He promised to support the governor to enable him actualized his vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous state in Nigeria.
