The newly appointed Minister of the Federal Ministry of Innovation Science and Technology (FMIST) Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, on Friday, assured Nigerians to take the nation’s Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), to a competitive global level.

Speaking in Abuja, he said innovation will be the cornerstone of his administration. Adding that his vision, is to position Nigeria as a global leader in science, technology, and innovation.

“We understand that if we would rise to be one of the leading nations of the world, we have to take innovation science and technology seriously. It would energize Nigerians, particularly our youth, to find and express their skills, their knowledge, their acumen in the area of innovation science and technology,” Udeh stated.

During his opening address, the Minister pledged full alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda and stressed the need for robust partnerships with government, academia, and the private sector to forge a unified national innovation strategy.

The Director Planning Research and Policy Analysis (PRPA) Department representing the Permanent Secretary Mrs. Salamatu Mohammed, who represented the Permanent Secretary Mrs Esuabana Asanye, assured the minister of the ministry’s full support in realizing his transformative agenda.
