Europe’s football governing body, UEFA, is set to release a feature-length documentary on Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen.
The film will highlight the player’s remarkable rise from the streets of Lagos to global football prominence.
According to reports from Turkey, a UEFA film crew is currently following Osimhen as part of the exclusive production, which aims to chronicle his journey and impact on and off the pitch. The documentary is expected to debut later this year or early next year.

From Lagos streets to global stardom
Osimhen, 26, has evolved into one of Africa’s most iconic forwards, revered for his lethal finishing and relentless work ethic, qualities that have made him the ideal subject of UEFA’s next major feature.
Just last week, UEFA featured Osimhen’s image in its Champions League promotions. The Nigerian justified the spotlight by netting a hat-trick in Galatasaray’s emphatic 3-0 win over Ajax in Amsterdam.
He currently leads the Champions League scoring chart with six goals, ahead of Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé.
Record-breaking career path
Osimhen’s inspiring story began in 2015, when he fired Nigeria to victory at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile, scoring a record ten goals.
From selling bottled water in Lagos, he rose to become one of Africa’s brightest football exports.
His European career took off at Wolfsburg, then Royal Charleroi, where his exploits attracted attention from top clubs. A subsequent move to Lille saw him win the Marc-Vivien Foé Award for best African player in Ligue 1.

At Napoli, Osimhen made history, leading the club to their first Serie A title in over 30 years and becoming the first African to win the Capocannoniere as Serie A top scorer.
After sealing a €75 million move to Galatasaray, he continued his dominance, scoring 38 goals across all competitions in his debut season and guiding the Turkish giants to a league and cup double.
A Story beyond football
Across UEFA competitions, Osimhen has scored 25 goals in 35 appearances, 15 in the Champions League and 10 in the Europa League.
His first Champions League goal came for Lille against Chelsea in 2019, while his first Europa League strikes were for Napoli against Leicester City in 2021.
UEFA’s upcoming documentary will not only chronicle Osimhen’s milestones but also explore the resilience, humility and drive that turned him from a street vendor in Lagos into one of world football’s most inspiring success stories.
