Soludo Celebrates Landslide Re-Election, Extends Olive Branch to Rivals

Re-elected Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has hailed his victory in Saturday’s governorship election, thanking voters for a resounding mandate and inviting defeated opponents to join hands in building the state.

Speaking to journalists at his Isuofia home in Aguata LGA, Soludo noted his vote tally surged from 112,000 in 2021 to 73% of total votes this time.

“Out of 326 wards, we lost only six and swept all 21 local governments—an emphatic statement,” he said.

“We’re shifting from gear three to gear four. Thank you for renewing our contract.”He praised President Bola Tinubu as “a true democrat” for non-interference and commended INEC’s new chairman for a credible debut, with 99% of results uploaded overnight.

“Elections in Anambra keep improving,” Soludo added.Extending fellowship to the 15 other candidates, he said: “Only one can win.

We campaigned hard, shared banter, and will soon share drinks the Anambra way. I offer leadership; let’s work together—no minute to waste.”

The governor mourned a councillor supporter shot dead in border town Owerre Ezukala shortly after voting. “Attackers came from across the border—it was unfair,” he said.
