Foundation Offers Scholarship To 17,888 Students In Katsina


Lado Development Foundation (LDF) has awarded scholarship to 17,888 indigenes of Katsina State from the 34 LGAs studying in various tertiary institutions across the country this year.

The beneficiaries include first degree, masters degree and PhD students across the various polytechnics, colleges of education and universities from within and outside the state.

Muhammad Ghali Salisu, Secretary of the foundation disclosed this during the disbursement exercise at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma on Saturday.

Salisu said the foundation selected 1,500 students at the Federal University Dutsinma to benefit from the scholarship scheme which covers their tuition fees.

He emphasized that the scheme which is the 4th of its kind, has seen a total of 4,706 students secured Neco exam scholarship, 4,176 secured Jamb scholarship, 3,313 secured NCE scholarship, and 206 secured polytechnic scholarship while 5,487 students secured university scholarship.

“All we need is the Remita print out copy from the intending beneficiaries. The foundation does not stop at supporting students with scholarships but also pays the medical bills of patients in hospitals and empowers women with business support.

He also said that, “In the healthcare sector the foundation has paid the medical bills of over 5,000 patients with various conditions and ailments, we have also empowered thousands of women across Katsina State.”

He said such assistance is aimed at alleviating living condition of beneficiaries, adding that the foundation would continue to assist people in the state through its various programmes.
