Arsenal complete £68m signing of Eberechi Eze

Arsenal have completed the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in a deal worth up to £68 million, with the England international sealing a return to his boyhood club.

Eze, who has signed a four-year contract at the Emirates, becomes the Gunners’ seventh summer arrival, taking their total spending past £250m. Arsenal beat rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the 27-year-old’s signature, striking an agreement for an initial £60m fee plus performance-related add-ons.

“We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal,” said manager Mikel Arteta. “He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in attack. His journey, mentality, and ambition are exactly what we want in our team.”

Eze, released by Arsenal as a teenager before rising through the ranks at QPR and Crystal Palace, returns to north London with a growing reputation as one of the Premier League’s most creative midfielders.

He etched his name into Palace history last season, scoring the decisive goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City to deliver the club’s first major trophy.

Arsenal hope Eze’s arrival, alongside big-name additions such as Viktor Gyökeres, Martin Zubimendi, and Noni Madueke, can help them end a 22-year wait for the Premier League title after three successive runners-up finishes.

The announcement was made just hours before Arsenal’s first home game of the season against Leeds at the Emirates Stadium.
