AWKA – Annunciation College Of Nursing Sciences, Emene, was the lucky host of Mr. Peter Obi as he continues to assist nursing colleges and schools.
At Emene on Friday Obi donated N20 million in assisting on on-going projects which comprise the school buildings and hostel blocks.
The Superior General and proprietor of the hospital Rev. Sister Mary Anastasia Dike while welcoming Obi noted that he and his friends had earlier donated N100 million at the inception of the project.
Sister Dike praised Obi for his sacrifices saying that though he may not be the richest he has been outstanding in donating from his personal pocket.
She said she praised Obi for his preference to help health institutions because after God the next most important thing is health.
She said apart from the many projects Obi’s preoccupation is Nigeria.
She said that brain drain has hit the nursing profession so they decided to build the nursing school to train more nurses.
The College is an arm of Annunciation Specialist hospital, Emene.
She prayed to God to fulfill Obi’s ambition.
Obi in his speech expressed amazement at the advancement of work in the massive building projects.
He encouraged everybody to play his own role in making Nigeria a better place.
To the nurses Obi thanked them saying what they were doing is a great service to humanity.
According to him, nobody may appreciate what they do now but certainly it is a work for humanity.
