Kogi CP decorates PPRO Aya, 41 others   


The Kogi state Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, Tuesday  charged 42 newly promoted and decorated officers of the force to redouble their efforts in crime fighting to justify their elevation.

Among the officers promoted is the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of the command, William Ovye Aya, who was promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

CP Kankarofi who gave the charge at the command’s headquarters in Lokoja after decorating the officers with their new ranks told them to see the promotion as a result of hard work, diligence, commitment to duty and a result of service to the nation.

He  reiterated the commitment of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun and that of the Police Service Commission chairman, DIG Hashimu Arugungu (Rtd) to the welfare of the rank and file of the Police force to enable them perform their duties effectively.
In his goodwill message, the security advisor to the governor, Commodore Jerry Omodara (Retired)  urged the officers to allow the promotion to spur them to do more for the force, Kogi state  and the nation at large.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, CSP Aya, expressed appreciation for the promotion, promising to justify the confidence reposed on them.
The officers promoted to the rank of  Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP) are CSP Bawa Shamsudeen Ibrahim,  CSP Aya,  and CSP Ocheni Enejoh while four officers were promoted to Superintendents of Police (SP).
