The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the
dismissal of 115 personnel as part of ongoing reforms in the agency.
In a notice published on Tuesday, the secret police advised
members of the public to desist from dealing with the dismissed personnel on
behalf of the service.
The DSS published the names and pictures of the 115
dismissed personnel on its website.
“As part of the ongoing reforms in the Department of State
Services (DSS), the public is hereby informed that a total of 115 personnel
have been dismissed over a period,” the statement reads.
“Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from
any official dealing with these individuals who have been dismissed by the
Service.”
The affected operatives were dismissed between 2024 and
2025.
In October, DSS arrested two dismissed officers — Barry
Donald and Victor Godwin — for allegedly using the agency’s name to defraud
citizens.
Before the arrest, the secret police had asked Nigerians to
desist from engaging with the two dismissed officers over alleged fraud.
