Trump had recently designated Nigeria as a “Country of
Concern” and suggested possible military action to “flush out terrorists,”
sparking intense debate both locally and internationally.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Omokri
expressed disapproval over Obi’s silence, describing it as “deeply suspicious”
and unbecoming of a national leader.

“Nigeria and Nigerians must never forget the loud silence of
Peter Obi during this time of crisis for our dear nation,” Omokri wrote. “No
good leader goes underground when the sound of thunder threatens his country,
unless he is the one who pointed the finger in the first place.”

Onokri alleged that Obi’s refusal to comment could be
interpreted as tacit support for the U.S. president’s controversial remarks.

“His silence is very pregnant with meaning, collusion, and
approval. A man who has an opinion on everything suddenly goes quiet. That is a
most suspicious and inauspicious silence,” Omokri added.
