Super Eagles of Nigeria winger Moses Simon has been named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week after his outstanding display in Paris FC’s 1-0 win over Monaco last weekend.
Moses Simon, who was on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, scored the only goal of the game to secure all three points for his side. His performance caught the attention of many fans and pundits, earning him a well-deserved place among the best players in France’s top flight for the week.
It is the first time this season that the Nigerian forward has made the Team of the Week.
Naija News reports that Simon, 30, joined Paris FC from Nantes during the summer transfer window and has already begun to make his mark, contributing three goals and one assist in 11 league appearances so far.
Simon’s impressive form comes at an important moment, as the Super Eagles prepare to regroup ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon.
The team’s official 𝕏 handle confirmed on Monday that players are expected to arrive in camp next week, posting: “The road to #2026FIFAWorldCup continues. 1 week till the Eagles regroup for the playoffs.”
Nigeria will face Gabon’s Panthers on November 13 at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.
Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is set to release the list of invited players this week.
