Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has announced the appointment
of 34 individuals into key government boards, agencies, and advisory positions
in the state.
A statement issued on Sunday by Ibraheem Musa, chief press
secretary to the governor, described the appointments as a move to bring
“innovative and resourceful professionals” into the state’s socio-economic and
political re-engineering process.
The appointments cut across the education, media,
environmental management, and vocational training sectors, among others.
Among the new appointees is Suwaiba Shehu Ibrahim, who has
been named executive chairman of the Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools
Education Board.
Ibrahim previously served as permanent secretary at, Teachers Service Board, and lectured at Kaduna State University.
Other appointments to the education board include Nita Byack
George, Monday Tela Bako, Aliyu Haruna Ahmed, and Aliyu Ibrahim as permanent
members, while Muhammad Kabir Uthman will serve as secretary.
At the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills
Development, Phoebe Sukai Yayia and Muhammad Sulaiman were appointed deputy
provosts for the Samarun Kataf and Soba campuses, respectively, while Abdullahi
Kabir will serve as registrar.
In the media sector, El-Said Yakubu Lere was named chairman
of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), with Zakari Aliyu Ahmed as
executive director.
Lere, a veteran journalist, was formerly executive director
(Radio) of KSMC and the founder of Liberty Radio Kaduna.
The governor also appointed Gambo Mathew Bulus as chairman
of the Kaduna State Agricultural Development Agency (KADA); Lawal Usman as
chairman of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board; and  Suleiman Ibrahim as general manager of the
Kaduna State Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA).
Other appointees include Usman Umar as executive director
(corporate services), Kaduna Mining Development Company Ltd; Abdulrauf Atiku as
special adviser on legal matters; and Murjanatu Sulaiman Shika as special
adviser on vocational training and skills development.
The list also features several senior and special assistants
covering portfolios such as citizenship and leadership, emergency management,
job creation, humanitarian affairs, and public relations.
They are Timothy Chindo, senior special assistant on
emergency management; Abdullahi A.U. Ladan, special assistant on citizenship
and leadership I; Yusuf Umar Garkuwa, senior special assistant on citizenship
and leadership II; and Aaron Bako, senior special assistant on citizenship and
leadership III.
Others are Sulaiman Abubakar Kinkinau, senior special
assistant on research, documentation, and strategy II; Binta Muhammad, senior
special assistant on public relations; Francis A. Sani (Zimbo), senior special
assistant on industrial training and development; and Abdullahi Muhammad Sani
(Lema), as senior special assistant on special duties IV.
Augustine Beguwa was named senior special assistant on job
creation; Salamatu Saleh Kida will serve as senior special assistant on
humanitarian affairs; Yusuf Aliyu Ahmed as senior special assistant on special
duties; Abubakar Aliyu, senior special assistant on stakeholder relations II.
Atang Musa Danjuma will serve as special assistant on
citizenship and leadership, while Nasir Aliyu Baban Yaya has been appointed
special assistant on support groups III.
Zainab Sani Giwa will serve as special assistant on special
duties IV, and Yusuf Usman has been named special assistant on support groups
IV. Dogara Unyem completes the list as special assistant on support groups V.
Sani, while congratulating the new appointees, urged them to
regard their appointments as a call to service and to discharge their duties
with diligence, fairness, and humility.
“I urge you to approach your new assignments with total
commitment, diligence, fairness, and humility,” Sani said.
The appointments are part of ongoing efforts by the Kaduna
state government to strengthen institutions and enhance service delivery across
key sectors.
