Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has officially confirmed his split from Argentine singer Nicki Nicole, clarifying that the couple has “merely parted ways” and dismissing reports of any infidelity.
The 18-year-old forward addressed the rumours surrounding his personal life after Spanish tabloids linked him to Italian influencer Anna Gegnoso, insisting the alleged Milan trip happened after the breakup.
Yamal sets record straight on relationship timeline
Speaking to Javi Hoyos on D Corazon (via Sport), Yamal said: “We are not together, but it has not been because of any infidelity.
“We have simply separated and that’s it. Everything that is coming out has nothing to do with our relationship. I have not been unfaithful nor have I been with another person.”

Yamal and Nicole’s relationship reportedly began around his 18th birthday in July, when the singer joined him for the celebrations. She quickly became a regular face at Barcelona games, and the pair’s affection frequently surfaced on social media.
But tension surfaced earlier this month after rumours emerged of Yamal’s brief visit to Milan, which tabloids misinterpreted as evidence of cheating.
Fitness concerns cloud Yamal’s growing fame
Away from the tabloids, Yamal is dealing with a nagging groin problem diagnosed as pubalgia, the same condition that once troubled Lionel Messi early in his career.
Barcelona’s medical staff are reportedly monitoring the teenager’s workload to prevent aggravation of the injury.
“Pubalgia is complicated,” Messi once said in a 2019 interview. “I suffered from it for a while and couldn’t train or play all the games. It’s not something that heals overnight.”

Hansi Flick provides update ahead of Elche clash
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick offered reassurance about Yamal’s condition ahead of their weekend fixture against Elche. “He’s fine,” the German confirmed. “Some days he still feels a bit of pain, but he’s progressing well.”
Flick also addressed Pedri’s continued absence after his latest setback following El Clásico, revealing that medical tests confirmed a recurrence of injury-related fatigue.
Barcelona currently sit eight points behind league leaders Real Madrid but have a game in hand, a crucial opportunity to close the gap as they aim to keep their title hopes alive.
