Roxettes Group reaffirms commitment to Southeast, denies relocation plans

The management of Roxettes Group has dismissed reports suggesting that the company plans to relocate all its industrial operations from the Southeast to Lagos, describing such claims as misleading and inaccurate.

In a press statement signed by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Arc. (Dr.) Kaycee Orji Kelechi, the group clarified that while it is currently reviewing its nationwide business structure as part of a long-term expansion and integration strategy, no decision has been made to move production out of the Southeast.

Orji explained that discussions held during the company’s last management meeting which some members of the press attended focused on the possible relocation of the corporate headquarters to Lagos to strengthen national integration and improve access to ports, investors, and export facilities.

“This internal discussion was clearly taken out of context,” the CEO stated. “Our production, assembly, and processing facilities in Obuaku City, Abia State, and Enugu State remain fully operational and continue to employ hundreds of Nigerians.”

He further disclosed that the company’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mother and Daughter Stations, with a 75Nm³/day dehydration and compression capacity, are expected to arrive at the Obuaku City facility by December 2025. According to him, the investment will enhance CNG production for internal use and promote industrial infrastructure development across the Southeast and Nigeria at large.

ROXETTES GROUP also commended Abia State Governor Alex Otti for his “visionary leadership” in improving security, infrastructure, and ease of doing business, noting that such reforms have continued to boost investor confidence and industrial growth in the state.

“Our commitment to Abia and the Southeast remains unwavering,” Orji assured. “The ongoing review is simply to ensure our operations nationwide are better aligned with evolving infrastructure and future growth.”

He reaffirmed the company’s dedication to job creation, local manufacturing, and sustainable industrial development, adding that Roxettes Group remains focused on driving Nigeria’s green industrialisation agenda through its automotive, paint, and renewable-energy divisions.
