Manchester United’s winning run came to an abrupt end at the City Ground, though Amad Diallo’s brilliant strike ensured Ruben Amorim’s side escaped with a point in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 34th minute when Casemiro headed in from a Bruno Fernandes corner.

However, Forest players protested furiously, claiming the ball had not fully crossed the line before the corner was awarded. Despite the complaints, the goal stood, and United carried their lead into halftime.

Forest fight back

Nottingham Forest came out revitalized after the break, levelling through Morgan Gibbs-White’s header just three minutes into the second half.

The turnaround was complete moments later when Nicolo Savona pounced from close range to make it 2-1, setting up the prospect of Sean Dyche’s first Premier League win since taking charge.

Amad to the rescue

United pressed hard for an equalizer and it finally arrived in the 81st minute when Amad Diallo unleashed a stunning volley past Forest goalkeeper.

The Ivorian winger nearly sealed all three points in stoppage time, but his effort was dramatically cleared off the line by Murrillo, leaving both sides to settle for a share of the spoils.
