He said Yakubu discovered his son in tears after returning home from a nearby bush where he had gone to ease himself.
Upon inquiry, the boy alleged that the suspect accosted and assaulted him before giving him ₦200 and threatening to kill him if he revealed the incident to anyone.
The police commissioner said the victim was immediately taken to the police hospital in Garki for medical attention.
“Following the report, operatives from the Trademore Division swiftly launched an investigation, tracked, and arrested the suspect within the Lugbe area,” Dantawaye stated.
He added that preliminary findings indicated the suspect had previously engaged in similar acts and was allegedly introduced to the practice by an acquaintance in Katsina State.
Dantawaye said investigations are ongoing adding that the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion.
While condemning the act, the police commissioner reaffirmer the command’s zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of sexual and gender-based violence.
He assured that the victim is receiving adequate medical and psychological support.
He also urged parents, guardians, and community leaders to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious or abusive behavior to the nearest police station.
