The Executive members of Trade Union Congress(TUC), Ebonyi State, have been re-elected for second tenure.

They were re-elected on Thursday during the State delegate conference of the union in Abakaliki, the state capital.

Those re-elected include; Comrade Chidi Igboji Chairman, Nwanneka Chukwuba Vice Chairman, Nwogbodo Vincent Secretary, Aja Kelechi Treasurer, Nwaji Sunday Financial Secretary, among others.

Addressing the members, the reelected Chairman, Chidi Igboji commended them for the confidence reposed in them and assured that he would continue to champion their welfare.

He said the union would communicate the national body on the election and expressed optimism that the state chapter and the national body will continue to work in unison for the progress of the TUC.

“This is the state council, it is not national council. We are at the grassroots level and I believe they will accept our decision here at the state level.

“You monitored everything we did here. Both SAC and SEC were all here. It was the decision of both SAC and SEC and the members of affiliate unions that took that decision and re-elected us”, he said.

The election was witnessed by government officials and leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) in the state.

Former Chairman of NLC in the state, Comrade Ikechukwu Nwafor who also monitored the exercise, applauded members of the union for their unity of purpose which led to the conduct of the election.
