Nigeria’s Grammy-winning artist, Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has shared what career path he might have pursued if he hadn’t become a singer.
He made this revelation during a recent interview shared on X on Friday.
Burna Boy revealed that, had he not pursued a career in music, he might have ended up as a suicide bomber, an oil thief, or even a prostitute.

When asked what he would have been doing if he hadn’t become a singer, Burna Boy responded: “There are many options, I could be stealing oil, I could be playing basket ball, I could be a fraudster, a suicide bomber, anything including a prostitute.”
The Grammy-winning star has achieved the milestone of becoming Africa’s artist with the most appearances on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This comes as his collaborative track with American rapper Gunna, “WGFT” from Gunna’s latest album The Last Wun, debuted at number 96 on this week’s Hot 100 chart, raising Burna Boy’s total entries to seven.
He also became the first African artist to debut a song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five consecutive years (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025).
