Edo: Excitement as FG trains, empowers 250 women, youths, gives start-up capital


The Federal government has conducted a three-day intensive entrepreneurship training of 250 Women and Youths in Owan-West Local Government Area of Edo state.

During the training participants were trained on production of Disinfectants, Bleaching items and odour control.

During training exercise participants in groups engaged in practical production of disinfectants and other items inline with the directives of the theoretical training exercise.

After the completion of the programme the federal government gave Start up Capital to the participants as part of efforts to assist them start local production in their communities.

The training programme was conducted at the famous Uhonmora civic centre which is located in the centre of the Community, in the Local government.

During training exercise participants in groups engaged in practical production of disinfectants and other items inline with the directives of the theoretical training exercise.

The training was done by the National Board for Technology Incubation in conjunction with the Management of GGF NIG. LTD.

Addressing the gathering the programme lead consultant, Magbagbeola Abass Adebayo, informed them of the rationale behind the training and the accompanied start up Capital benefits.

He further harped on the need for the beneficiaries to make judicious use provided Capital for business purposes and advise against wasting the fund.

On her part the Aisha Oladipo emphasised the need for them utilise knowledge gain during the training to better their lives and assist their families.

The Vice President of Uhonmora Ora Progressives Union worldwide Mrs Evangelina Agbai at the occasion commended the federal government and the facilitator of the training exercise in Owan-West local government Area.

She urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the acquired Skills and the start up Capital as directed by the Scheme.

The beneficiaries on their parts expressed delight for be part of the federal government initiative and harped on the need to go with the directives of the scheme.

High points of the training exercise saw participants in groups engaged in practical production of the items in line with what their taught during the theory session.

The presentation of certificates climaxed the event after which the items produced were distributed to participants.
