The Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with media organisations to promote accurate and credible information dissemination.
Maiyaki stated this during a courtesy visit to the Kaduna Zonal Office of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
He commended the Zonal Manager, Alhaji Bashir Rabe-Mani, for the warm reception and commended NAN for its continuous support to the ministry and the state government.
He said the visit was part of a media tour across leading media houses in Kaduna to build stronger working relationships between the government and the press in combating misinformation and fake news.
“Our visit is to strengthen the partnership between the government and media professionals.
“It is key that accurate, credible, and factual information reaches the public, and NAN remains a critical platform in achieving this,” Maiyaki said.

He lauded the agency for its consistent support to the state government, stating that NAN had also provided office space for the KSMC in Lagos and had been instrumental in promoting the state’s activities nationwide.
Maiyaki disclosed that the ministry had established a new Department for Social Media and Contents Creation as part of efforts to enhance digital communication and public engagement.
“We have reached an advanced stage for the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) to re-subscribe to NAN services.
“As a ministry, we are keen on partnerships in areas such as multimedia, and we plan to serialise the achievements of Gov. Uba Sani’s administration on your platform,” he added.
In his response, Rabe-Mani described the visit as historic and timely, saying that the reinvigoration of the Ministry of Information by the Kaduna State Government was a welcome development.
“This visit is important and timely. Kaduna had long been without a functional Ministry of Information.
“With the governor reintroducing it and appointing capable professionals, we are already seeing positive impact,” Rabe-Mani said.
He commended the commissioner for his proactive engagements with the media and pledged NAN’s continued partnership in projecting the image and activities of the state.
“NAN is a key and the leading content provider in the country.
“We have reporters covering all beats in Kaduna, and we will continue to support efforts that promote peace, unity, and development,” he added.
Rabe-Mani stated that the agency placed high priority on its Kaduna Zonal Office, with the Managing Director, Malam Ali M. Ali, also maintaining strong ties with the state, having begun his journalism career there.
He assured the visiting delegation of NAN’s readiness to sustain its collaboration with the ministry and further enhance the visibility of Kaduna State in the national media space.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
