Serie A: Lookman scores as Atalanta cage AC Milan

AC Milan dropped more points in their Serie A campaign after being held to a 1–1 draw by Atalanta on Tuesday night. Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman scored his first goal of the season to cancel out Samuele Ricci’s early opener.

Milan took the lead in the 14th minute when Ricci’s deflected strike beat goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi. Atalanta responded strongly and were rewarded in the 57th minute when Lookman powered home a left-footed effort after a fine pass from Mario Pašalić.

The result means Atalanta have now drawn five consecutive league matches, extending their unbeaten run to six games.

Milan, meanwhile, continue to struggle for consistency after last weekend’s 2–2 draw with Pisa cost them top spot in the table.

In a tense second half, both teams pushed for a winner. Milan substitute Christopher Nkunku and Atalanta’s Davide Zappacosta came close, but neither side could find the decisive goal. Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan produced a superb late save to deny Zappacosta’s long-range strike.

The draw leaves Milan frustrated as they remain behind leaders Juventus, while Atalanta stay unbeaten but will look to turn their string of draws into victories.
