Rotary reaffirms commitment to polio eradication


The Rotary International District 9127 Governor, Dame Joy Okoro, Monday, reaffirmed the organisation’s unwavering commitment to the global fight against polio.

Dame Joy, who gave the assurance during her official visit to a joint meeting of the Rotary Clubs of Abuja, Lugbe FHA Estate, as part of her ongoing tour of clubs under the district, pledged  continued support for awareness campaigns and community-driven health initiatives across the district.

She commended members for their dedication to Rotary’s humanitarian ideals and urged them to remain steadfast in the collective effort to end polio worldwide.

Speaking at the event, the president of the Rotary Club of Abuja, Lugbe FHA Estate, Rotarian Tunmise Adepoju, highlighted some of the club’s key community projects, including educational scholarships, polio awareness campaigns and local community support programmes. 

He reiterated the club’s resolve to sustain its efforts, particularly in polio sensitisation and eradication drives.
