Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has noted that “many things are happening on and off the pitch” after he was substituted in Los Blancos’ 2-1 win over FC Barcelona in a LaLiga clash at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday.
While the game ended in a victory for Real Madrid, Vinicius’ second-half substitution from the game and his reaction over it has sparked speculation that he is not happy at the Spanish giants.
Naija News reports that goals from Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham gave Madrid the win in front of their home crowd, tightening their grip on the top of the league table and opening up a five-point gap over their fiercest rivals.
Vinicius, who was replaced by fellow Brazilian Rodrygo in the 72nd minute, couldn’t hide his frustration as he left the pitch. But after the game, he showed gratitude to the supporters for their energy throughout the encounter.
“This is how the Clásico is; there are many things happening on and off the pitch,” Vinicius said. “We try to maintain balance, but that’s not always possible. We didn’t want to offend anyone, neither the young players nor the fans. We know that when we step onto the pitch, we have to play our role, and that’s how it was today. Hala Madrid.”
