2027 Governorship Election: Forum Urges Bello Matawalle To Run

Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Minister of State Defence and former Zamfara state Governor, has been called upon to contest the 2027 Governorship election to bring a total turnaround to the economy of the state and improve the welfare of its teeming people.

This call was made at the weekend during a chat with our correspondent by Alhaji Farouk Ibrahim Tsiga, the coordinator of Yarima Tsiga Solidarity Forum in Katsina.

Tsiga pointed out the massive transformation of Zamfara State on Governor Matawalle’s watch, tasking the minister to present himself to deliver the good governance, which the State enjoyed during his administration.

According to him, Governor Matawalle has proven his leadership mettle during his regime in all aspects of the economy such as health, education, women, youths to mention a few.

The forum’s coordinator, added that Governor Matawalle had demonstrated his leadership ability and would be able to bring better transformative governance to the state for the benefits of its citizens.

“Dr Bello Matawalle has done it before in various sectors of the state economy, like the renovation of major hospitals across the state, construction of 147 PHCs, provision of 21 standard ambulances and 147 tricycle ambulances, installation of modern medical equipment, as well as the recruitment of 210 healthcare workers in the state”.

Tsiga added that Matawalle’s efforts will not go unnoticed as he is better position now to bring lasting peace to the menace of insecurity especially banditry, Kidnapping, cattle rustling and many others across the state.

He assured of the forum’s readiness to mobilise support for the Minister’s Governorship bid in 2027.

He therefore solicited the support of APC stalwarts in the state to rally support for the Governorship election of Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle to enable him build on his solid foundation in the state.

“I will also call on HE Yarima Bakura, Amb Yuguda, HE Sen Abdulaziz Yarima, Alhaji Tukur Dan Fulani, the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Idris to persuade Dr Bello Matawalle to answer the call to run for the Governorship come 2027”, he concluded.
