Online personality Emmanuel Obruste, popularly known as GheGhe, has made over $30,000 from his self-proclaimed “University of Wisdom and Understanding,” attracting more than 170,000 students to his lectures.
This was revealed in a post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where user @Olamide0fficial featured a video of GheGhe speaking about his journey and achievements.
In the video, GheGhe, who described himself as an orphan, expressed gratitude for the love and support he has received from Nigerians.
He noted that he had set a record in the country by becoming the first individual to draw the highest number of viewers over 170,000 on a TikTok live session.
“Thank you so much Nigerians for the love. More than 170,000 people watched me live on TikTok. They watched my lectures today at GheGhe University of Wisdom and Understanding,” he said.
According to him, his university is “the only one where, when you graduate, women will fear you and hesitate to ask you for money.”
He further stated: “I’m now the first person in the history of Nigeria that 170,000 people watched live. I’m not a graduate, but by the grace of God, I founded a school.”
“The first illiterate to establish a university in Nigeria. Nigerians, you love me this much—what did I do to deserve it? I’m an orphan, yet I have a home in Nigeria.”
GheGhe also disclosed that the gifts he received during the livestream were worth over $30,000.
Despite his lack of formal education, he declared himself the first illiterate to found an online university in Nigeria.
