Human rights activist and #FreeNnamdiKanuNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, was on Wednesday, arrested by security operatives in Abuja.
Sowore was reportedly picked up at the Federal High Court shortly after exchanging pleasantries with detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
His arrest is believed to be connected to the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest held recently in Abuja, where protesters demanding Kanu’s release were dispersed with teargas and several activists were arrested.

During the rally, led by Sowore, Barrister Alloy Ejimakor, Emmanuel Kanu, and about 11 others were detained. Sowore, however, managed to escape at the time but was later apprehended at the court.
