The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday presented Certificates of Return to senators-elect and members-elect of the House of Representatives.
The certificates were given to those who emerged victorious in the August 16 by-elections.
The ceremony, held at the INEC headquarters in Abuja, was presided over by National Commissioners of the electoral body.

The certificates formally validate the winners as duly elected representatives of their constituencies.
Among the recipients was Emmanuel Nwachukwu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who won the Anambra South Senatorial seat, and Joseph Ikpea of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declared winner of the Edo Central Senatorial District.
Five members-elect of the House of Representatives also received their certificates.
They include Barrister Omosede Igbinedion of the APC, representing Ovie North East and Ovie South West Federal Constituency in Edo State, and Mukhtar Rabi’u Garki of the APC, Babura/Garki Federal Constituency of Jigawa State.
Others are Fidelix Bagudu of the APC, Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, and Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji of the APC, representing Ikenne/Shagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency in Ogun State.
Fola Oyekunle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also received his certificate as member-elect for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in Oyo State, making him the only PDP candidate among the winners.
Speaking at the ceremony, one of the INEC Commissioners said: “Today’s presentation is not just about certificates, it is about the mandate freely given to you by the people.
“We urge you to serve with integrity and ensure democracy truly benefits your constituents.”
Emmanuel Nwachukwu, in his remarks, said: “This certificate represents the trust of my people.
“I will work tirelessly to justify their confidence.”
Joseph Ikpea added: “This victory is not for me alone but for my district. I will focus on legislation that touches lives directly.”
Omosede Igbinedion expressed gratitude, stating: “I dedicate this victory to my constituents, i promise to be their voice in the House of Representatives”.
