The Senator Southern Kaduna Senatorial zone, Sunday Marshall Katung, Monday condemned the attack on Zonkwa Police Division, Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna state.
The Senator condemned the attack in a press statement saying, “I received with deep sadness the report of the attack on Zonkwa Police Division, headquarters of Zangon Kataf local government area, which tragically claimed the lives of two gallant police officers.”
He stated that the criminal assault on the nation’s security agencies is wicked, barbaric, reprehensible, and stands condemned.
He said most disturbing is the dangerous affront on the lives of the police officers and security personnel who, day after day, endure the most difficult and excruciating pains in their commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians.
He added that: “I am pained by this dastardly act and urge our security agencies to deploy every available resource to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice without.”
The lawmaker added that his deepest condolences go to the families of the deceased officers, as well as to the entire Police Force.
He called on residents of Zonkwa and its environs to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative as security agencies intensify efforts to track the criminals responsible to make them face the full wrath of the law.
