Nigerian politician, Prince Kpokpogri, has criticised those who are publicly celebrating the marital issues between Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
In a post on Instagram, Kpokpogri described the behaviour as “unfortunate,” lamenting that many Nigerians take pleasure in spreading negative news, particularly about the private lives of public figures.
“It is quite unfortunate that many Nigerians seem to take pleasure in negative news, especially when it concerns the personal lives of others,” he wrote.
Kpokpogri recalled his own highly publicised fallout with actress Tonto Dikeh, noting that people similarly rejoiced over their crisis. He said both of them have since reconciled and moved on.
“When Tonto and I had our differences, many people rejoiced and threw unnecessary tantrums. Today, we remain good friends and have moved past those issues,” he said.
The politician said the same behaviour is now being directed at the Nwoko household.
“Now, the same attitude is being shown towards Senator Ned Nwoko and his wife, Regina. Rather than showing empathy or wishing them well, some people appear to find joy in their challenges,” he added.
He wondered whether those mocking the couple were free from their own family troubles or were simply driven by envy and idle talk.
Kpokpogri stressed that all marriages experience trials and misunderstandings but expressed confidence that the Nwokos would resolve their differences.
“I strongly believe they will resolve their differences because Senator Ned is a good man who always prioritizes his family above all else. Let us learn to support and uplift others instead of celebrating their difficult moments,” he said.
