On October 15, 2025, Yaba Divisional headquarters officers, acting on reliable intelligence, raided Eyingun-Owode and apprehended the suspect.

Police spokesperson Olusola Ayanlade confirmed the arrest in a statement issued in Akure. 

A search of a nearby bush behind Fatia’s residence uncovered three single-barrel guns, three Dane guns, and one unfinished gun barrel. 

During questioning, Fatia provided key information about his involvement in the illegal production and sale of firearms.

Two additional suspects were arrested in connection with the case. The police are investigating whether Fatia is linked to violent crimes in the state and identifying potential recipients of his arms supply. 

The suspect and recovered weapons will be transferred to the Command’s Monitoring Unit for further investigation and possible prosecution.
