32 Drug Suspects Arrested In Lagos Midnight Operation


Thirty-two suspected drug abusers have been arrested by the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce during a midnight operation carried out on Wednesday across several parts of Agidingbi and Ikeja GRA.

The operation, which began around 1 a.m. on August 20, 2025, focused on hotspots known for harboring undesirable elements.

Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, on Wednesday shared on X the outcomes of the operation, specifying the locations targeted during the enforcement exercise.

He stated that the areas targeted during the raids included Alausa CBD, NERDC Road, Alhaja Ashabi Cole Street, the frontage of the African Shrine in Agidingbi, Adekunle Fajuyi Way, Shobo Arobiodu, Isaac John Street, and Oba Akinjobi Road in Ikeja GRA, along with several adjoining streets.

“During the raid exercise, a total number of 32 suspects, which comprises 25 males and seven females who were in possession of hard and illicit drugs suspected to be indian hemp, codeine and other narcotic substance, were arrested. Sanity was restored in all the areas,” the commissioner said.

Wahab further stated that all the suspects would face appropriate charges in court.
