“I Featured Wizkid, Davido On My New Album To Promote Peace” — Odumodublvck

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has explained why he chose to feature Wizkid and Davido on his debut album, despite their widely known rivalry.

The 23-track album, released on October 6, features Wizkid on the track “Big Time” and both Davido and Seun Kuti on “Grooving.”

The decision to feature both rival superstars on one album sparked widespread reactions from fans, given their well-known feud.

The years-long tension between the two reignited in October 2024, after Wizkid mocked Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle and the governor of Osun State.

In an interview on ATTW Space, Odumodublvck clarified that featuring both artists was a conscious effort to promote peace, rather than taking sides in a dispute whose origins he admits he doesn’t fully understand.

He disclosed that the tracklisting was intentional, positioning the artists on consecutive songs as part of a strategic plan.

“Those guys, Davido and Wizkid, are men. They are real men. At the end of the day, when we all get to the gates of heaven, whether Davido and Wizkid are inside or not, if I’m standing at the entrance asking why I wasn’t allowed in, and it’s because I supported either Wizkid or Davido, that wouldn’t make any sense,” he said.

“Did I know the foundation of their disagreement? Or can I tell if they’ll reconcile tomorrow?

“God said, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall inherit the kingdom of God.’

“Now, I put them on tracks five and six. By God’s grace, for my own agenda, I hope that one day both of them will find it in their hearts to be friends again. That’s what it’s about.”

The “Declan Rice” hitmaker further revealed that both music icons contributed to the album without requesting any payment.

“Both of them know they’re on my album, but they are there by the grace of God and out of respect for my hustle, because I didn’t pay them, not a dime,” he added.

“The song I featured Wizkid on wasn’t originally mine, he gave it to me. I didn’t record it and send it to him; he gifted it to me.”
