Kano Police Dismantle Inter-State Robbery Gang, Arrest 11 Suspects, Recover Arms


In a major breakthrough, the Kano State Police Command has disrupted a notorious armed robbery syndicate operating across Kano, Kaduna, and Abuja, seizing arms and ammunition. 

The state Commissioner of Police, Dr. Ibrahim Bakori, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Monday in Kano, that his menalso recovered dangerous weapons during a coordinated operation across the two states. 

He said in a significant breakthrough. the police apprehended nine suspects, following a coordinated intelligence and tactical operation.

“Today, I am pleased to announce to you the successful arrest of 9 suspects involved in a series of armed robbery operations in Kano,Kaduna and Abuja”

“The arrested suspects include: Abubakar Aminu (22), Aliyu Aliyu (23), Abubakar Usman (22), Sulaiman Sani (20), Yusuf Yusuf (17), Abdulrahman Aliyu (23), Salisu Hussaini (17), Sulaiman Abdullahi (20), and Abdulmutallib Sa’ad (24),” 

According to Bakori, the suspects confessed to being involved in several armed robbery operations in Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano State, including the recent armed robbery at Unguwar Jakada, Dorayi Quarters, Kano State. During investigation, the following exhibits were recovered:

“One double-barrel gun with breach number 273720 with eighteen rounds of live cartridges,. One English Falcon pistol with breach number RFJA 170521867

He further explained that all the suspects arrested will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation, emphasizing that the Command is working to recover more exhibits.
