Okeleji highlighted the critical link between workforce empowerment, technology adoption, and sustainable poverty reduction.

Technology offers us an avenue to change that reality, because with the right digital infrastructure, we can connect even the lowest-income workers to credit, healthcare, and pension systems, giving them access to the financial stability and social safety nets they deserve. Building this foundation is essential to realising a Nigeria where growth is inclusive and productivity drives prosperity,” he stated.

He further noted that leveraging technology to expand access to essential services can help working families build stability, security, and better livelihoods, particularly across the informal and low-income workforce segments.

Other panellists emphasised the need for stronger public–private collaboration in driving sustainable economic transformation.

Key points from the discussion included the role of cash and service-based interventions in helping households transition out of poverty, the importance of women’s empowerment initiatives in creating wealth, and the need for more inclusive social investment programmes.

The session also underscored the importance of data-driven policymaking and financial inclusion in ensuring targeted impact where it is needed most.
