The Presidency has denied the rumour that there is a plot to replace Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, who is indisposed.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the development to Daily Trust on Sunday night.
The confirmation followed speculations that the minister was seriously ill and had been flown abroad.

But reacting to enquiries from Daily Trust, Mr Onanuga said, “He is indisposed, I have already said he is indisposed.
“Mr Wale Edun, as we said in that statement, is indisposed. That is the situation; all these speculations that the President wants to appoint someone else is not true. He is indisposed and he is recovering,” Onanuga said.
Earlier, the Presidency had issued a statement that Mr Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, will lead Nigeria’s delegation to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meeting in Washington DC, which opens on Monday, October 13.
Onanuga in the statement had said “Cardoso, as the alternate Governor, replaces the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, who is indisposed.”
According to the Presidency the Nigerian team will also comprise the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anete.
