ABUJA – The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed profound sadness over the demise of Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, father of Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. Alhaji Momohsani passed away on August 19, 2025, at the age of 83.
A revered community leader, father, uncle, and grandfather, the late Alhaji Momohsani was known for his unwavering dedication to the service and well-being of his community. Throughout his life, he championed peace and stability in his domain, earning the respect and admiration of many.
His legacy of hard work, integrity, and guidance leaves a lasting impact not only on his family but also on the people of Kogi State, who benefitted greatly from his wisdom.
In a statement signed by Executive Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, and Chairman of the NGF, the Forum extended heartfelt condolences to Governor Ododo and the people of Kogi State. The NGF prayed for strength for the grieving family and hoped for eternal rest for the departed.
Alhaji Momohsani will be deeply missed as a pillar of his community and a devoted family man.
The statement reads in part: “It is with deep sense of sadness that we commiserate with the Kogi State Governor, H.E Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on the passing of his father, Alhaji Anmed Momohsani Ododo, on the 19” of August 20285, at the age of 83.
“Late Alhaji Momohsani was a respected community leader. father. uncle and grandfather, a leader who dedicated his life to the service of his community.
“His leadership and dedication to the peace and stability of his domain will be deeply missed. Alhaji Momohsani lived a fulfilled life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity.
“His passing is not only a personal loss to the Governor and his family but also to the people of Kogi State who benefitted from his wisdom and guidance.
“The NGF extends heartfelt condolences to His Excellency and the entire people of Kogi State during this time.
“We pray that the Almighty God grants them the strength to bear this irreparable loss and grant the departed eternal rest”
