The team’s aircraft, which departed from Polokwane, South Africa, reportedly developed a crack on its windshield mid-air, prompting the pilots to make an unplanned stop for safety checks.

The situation sparked concern among football fans across social media, as news of the incident spread quickly.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the players, officials, and crew were safely evacuated after the aircraft landed.

Fans react with relief and frustration

Following the news, Nigerians took to social media to express mixed emotions relief for the team’s safety and frustration over recurring aviation issues in the country. “Thank God for journey mercies,” one fan wrote, while another commented, “Nothing ever works well in Nigeria.”
