Renowned gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey moved thousands of participants in his month-long virtual Hallelujah Challenge with a deeply personal testimony, revealing that his wife, Sarah, endured five miscarriages, including an ectopic pregnancy, during challenging periods of their marriage.
Speaking during the early hours of Friday’s session, Bassey shared how these trials tested their faith while he continued to lead the online praise and worship program, which draws believers worldwide to pray, sing, and share testimonies.
“My wife will have to forgive me for sharing this,” Bassey said. “There were times during the Hallelujah Challenge when we had a miscarriage, and nobody knew.
I would still come online to praise and dance.”Bassey recounted leaving his wife’s hospital bedside to minister online, only to return afterward.
“A few years ago, she was in the hospital with an ectopic pregnancy. I would lead praise and worship, then go back, and the nurses would say, ‘It was powerful tonight.’ Not one, not two, not three or four, but five pregnancies,” he revealed.
Despite these heart-wrenching losses, Bassey emphasized God’s faithfulness, urging participants not to lose hope.
“When people ask, ‘Where is God?’ I say, I understand. God is faithful. One of the words He gave us was, ‘Don’t give up on God,’” he added.
Married since 2013, Bassey and his wife, Sarah, are now parents to a son and a daughter. The testimony resonated deeply with the Hallelujah Challenge community, sparking an outpouring of support and shared stories of resilience on social media.
