The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, has expressed confidence in the new Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman’s leadership.
He said Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, (Senior Advocate Of Nigeria) SAN, has the experience, integrity, and competence needed to bring reforms and strengthen Nigeria’s electoral system.
“The new INEC boss has the capacity to bring integrity and transparency to Nigeria’s electoral process through credible reforms and strong institutional discipline,” Dantalle added.

He described Amupitan’s appointment as a positive step toward restoring public trust in the nation’s electoral process.
Dantalle made the statement on Friday, during an interview on Prime Time, a programme aired on Arise Television.
According to him, Amupitan’s extensive legal background and experience in litigation make him well-suited to lead the electoral body.
“Amupitan, going by his profile and pedigree, is a professor of law and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.
“You know how electioneering in Nigeria is riddled with a series of litigations, court orders, and counter court orders.
“We believe that having a man well-grounded in litigation will help sanitize the process,” Dantalle said.
He also commended the immediate past INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, for laying a strong foundation in the use of technology during elections and urged lawmakers to enact pending reforms to support Amupitan’s leadership.
