The Forward Operating Base (FOB), Escravos of the Nigerian Navy has successfully deactivated six illegal refining sites in Obodo Omadino Community, located in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Navy Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, Commanding Officer of FOB Escravos, revealed this in a statement issued on Friday in Warri.
According to Okoloagu, the operations were conducted between October 2 and October 6 in the coastal community, targeting illegal crude oil activities.

He revealed that approximately 11,200 litres of stolen crude oil were recovered during the series of coordinated operations.
“The FOB Escravos has deactivated six illegal refining sites at Obodo Omadino Community and seized approximately 11,200 litres of stolen crude in a series of coordinated operations. The products were discovered in 28 dugout pits and six polythene sacks. Also, one pumping machine was recovered,” he stated.
Okoloagu explained that the operations were part of the ongoing Operation DELTA SANITY II and credited the success to credible intelligence gathered prior to the missions.
He further noted that the operations were in line with the strategic directives of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, aimed at curbing illegal activities in the maritime sector.
Reiterating the Navy’s commitment, Okoloagu affirmed that FOB Escravos remains dedicated to safeguarding the nation’s oil resources against economic sabotage.
