“I will rather be Arise TV’s Rufai than Channels TV’s Seun” – OAP Dotun declares

Nigerian On-Air Personality, Dotun, well known as Do2dtun has stirred massive reactions online after publicly declaring that he would rather be Arise TV’s Rufai Oseni than Channels TV’s Seun Okinbaloye, following ongoing conversations about journalism style in Nigeria.

Dotun made the comment in reaction to a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) that compared the interview styles of both journalists.

The post highlighted how Rufai directly confronts public officials with hard questions, while Seun takes a calmer and more diplomatic approach.

Reacting to the post, Dotun wrote:

“I’ll rather be Rufai. This is what Nigeria needs now. When they steal, dem no dey calm do am. He is within his ethics but uses a different method. His method, I love. Werey lo fin wo were.”

His statement comes shortly after Rufai Oseni’s viral clash with Minister of Works, David Umahi, on Arise TV’s Morning Show, where Umahi told the journalist, “You’re too small for me to report to President Tinubu,” during a heated exchange over the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.

Dotun’s post has since divided social media users, while some praised him for standing with bold journalism, others insisted that Seun’s calm and respectful interviewing style represents professionalism.
